Happy Springtime y'all! I hope that all of you are enjoying it as much as I am (unless you've got allergies, in which case I hope you're enjoying it from inside??). I'm afraid I've been annoyingly ADD, sidetracking conversations to squack at every flowering tree I see.... Sorry pals and family. It's just, you know, New England winters make me feel like we've really earned spring! Anyway, here are some springy blooms and portraits!
Stay tuned for some more updates on some family sessions this spring!
As you might have been able to tell, I am totally obsessed with greenhouses lately. Maybe it's because I come from a long line of super awesome gardeners (like, they just look at the plant and it grows beautifully), but I've been trying to be better about taking care of my plant babies. My bedroom is slowly starting to look like a jungle after bringing in my plants for the winter, and I even bought a lemon tree... eek! I'm hoping that by sheer will (maybe singing to it? Do lemons like motown??), I will keep it alive long enough to get some lemons out of it because you better believe I'll be making some citrusy cocktail goodness! Maybe I'll even get around to blogging it... oh new years goals. Anyway, here are some portraits from this weekend's adventures, taken at the Wellesley Greenhouse! As I've learned, a friend who will hop in any sort of tree to get the perfect image is one you should keep for life, and photograph them whenever they let you!
I've been away from the blog for a little bit, but I'm back with this lovely Maine engagement session with Amanda and Nikolas! It was so much fun wandering and spalshing through their favorite beach spot where they walk their dogs every morning. What a relaxing way to start the day with their two adorable pups! Thanks so much A & N for letting me tag along, I can't wait for your wedding!
I had such a wonderful time photographing sweet Zoe for a model session in Portsmouth, NH. This girl was game for getting in the New England water and wading through the marsh grasses! Thanks lady for trusting my vision for you- I love these sun drenched images!
Guys: this wedding weekend was amazing for so many reasons. Firstly, Brendan and Dee Dee are the most genuine, kind hearted couple. This was so apparent throughout the whole weekend from the speeches, to overheard conversations between guests (sorry, but when you're a photo ninja you overhear some conversations!!) to the people they surround themselves. Everyone there was so genuinely happy and excited for this couple to share their love it made me forget that I was there for a job! I could write about every single detail I loved and have a post that would last forever in a day, so instead, I'm going to list my top 5 favorite parts:
1. SO MUCH SINGING!!! Coming from a musical family (A Capella groups, theater, opera, choral singing) it was so special to hear beautiful music that was meaningful to the musically talented couple.
2. HOT AIR BALOONS!!! Not. Even. Planned. Amazing.
3. Ohana Camp. Looooooved that people stayed in cabins and that the whole camp was available to guests for the whole weekend. (Highly recommended for any couples looking for a camp-vibe wedding!)
4. Vermont. 'Nuff said.
5. Weekend long fun activities! This was a great way for all the guests to have fun and relax before the big day. I heard so many people say how nice it was to have the whole weekend to not feel rushed and enjoy everyone's company.
Ok, enough chatting! Here are my favorites from the day before the wedding:
^^^Thanks to my dad for being my Second Photog for the weekend!! ^^^
Stay tuned for the rest of the weekend's images!
Here's a little sneak peek at a modelling session I shot this weekend- something new for me and so much fun!!
Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend! Some ladies and I headed north for a weekend of camping and exploring Acadia National Park. My creative juices were flowing the whole weekend about amazing ideas for engagement sessions galore! Anyone up for a little adventure?? Check out my instagram for some more pictures of our adventure: @ellietacy
It's officially summer!! In between enjoying all the best warm weather activities, it's the perfect time to book a fun family session. Let's go somewhere fun and let your kids be kids! My favorite part about family sessions are getting to have a little fun with the little ones. These two became explorers as we wandered through the woods looking for pinecones and chipmunks!
Can you EVEN with that little drool bubble?!? These babes are equally sweet as they are cute! I love that this job gets me to meet so many great families and capture fleeting moments. Getting pictures taken is such a wonderful way to preserve your kids at all ages!
Last we saw, Boston was covered in snow and everyone was getting cranky that it wasn't melting (unless you ski, in which case you were probably pretty happy). We all had to fake it by going to greenhouses or wistfully looking at everyone else's vacation pics of Florida. BUT NOW, all of us hearty Bostonians can rejoice because we have our very. own. spring. YAY! I'm still somehow delightfully surprised every year that all of the plants survived the winter. And no, neighbors, I was not casing out your houses.... just admiring your lovely gardens.
Here are some springy shadowy portraits of some beauties.
