Can you spot which image below is digital and which one is film?
I love shooting film for both professional and nostalgic reasons: because it transports me back to being at the wooden dining room table with my dad learning how to roll film and learning the physics of light and the chemistry of film.
It also reminds me to be present while shooting. You have to plan your shot, manually focus, and advance the film yourself; step by step. You become apart of each image you make. Shooting film in between digital shots just helps be bring that mindfulness and thoughtfulness back into photography. In fact I chose my digital based on the fact that it was modeled after the exact line of film camera I use. To me, the more thoughtful images are worth the price tag of a roll of film. As always, feel free to ask me any questions you might have about making the switch to film, being a hybrid photographer, or anything about film photography, ask away!
